Grants Pass Woman Dies in Wrong-Way I-5 Collision

JOSEPHINE COUNTY, Ore. (Nov. 24, 2025) — A Grants Pass woman was killed early Saturday after driving the wrong way on Interstate 5 and colliding head-on with a commercial truck, according to Oregon State Police.

Troopers responded at 2:04 a.m. on Nov. 22 to reports of a two-vehicle crash near milepost 62. A preliminary investigation found that a southbound Chevrolet S10, traveling in the northbound lanes for unknown reasons, struck a northbound Volvo commercial motor vehicle and trailer.

The Chevrolet’s driver, Annette Dea Dimmick, 34, of Grants Pass, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Volvo’s driver, David Michael Jellison, 68, of Alliance, Ohio, and his passenger, Ceejay Clay, 29, of Warren, Ohio, sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital, OSP said.

The crash closed the highway for roughly four hours while troopers conducted an on-scene investigation. OSP was assisted by the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, Rural Metro Fire, Grants Pass Fire, and ODOT.
