Medford, Oregon- The Medford School District Board of Directors voted unanimously at its meeting tonight to appoint Deputy Superintendent Jeanne Grazioli as Interim Superintendent following the resignation of Dr. Bret Champion.
Officials say Grazioli brings over 30 years of experience in education, spanning multiple roles and regions across the country. She is in her 13th year with the Medford School District and has held various leadership positions, including Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, Director of Elementary Education, Elementary Principal, Coordinator of Alternative Education, Middle School Assistant Principal, and Teacher for students with disabilities.
Board Chair Cynthia Wright emphasized the importance of continuity in the district’s leadership. “The Board is committed to a smooth transition as we navigate this change in leadership. We have great confidence in Jeanne’s ability to lead our district during this interim period. Her deep understanding of our schools, dedication to students, and strong relationships with staff and families will provide stability as we determine the next steps in our search for a permanent superintendent,” Wright said.
Grazioli expressed her appreciation for the opportunity. “I am honored to serve the Medford School District in this capacity,” she said. “Every day, hard work is happening in our schools—teachers engaging students, staff providing support, and students striving for success. My focus is to ensure that this work continues without interruption and that we provide the stability and support our students and staff need to thrive.”
The district will provide additional details in the coming weeks regarding the timeline and process for selecting the next superintendent. The Board encouraged continued community support and engagement during this transition.
