More Valley Snow Forecasted, as NWS Issues Winter Weather Advisory

Medford, Oregon- The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of southern Oregon, effective from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today. Residents and travelers are urged to prepare for hazardous road conditions and potential travel delays due to snowfall.

Expected Conditions

Snow accumulations are projected to vary across the affected areas:

• Illinois Valley to Grants Pass: Accumulations from one-half to one inch.

• Southeastern Josephine County and most of Jackson County: Snowfall ranging from 2 to 5 inches.

• Eastern Douglas County near Toketee Falls: Significant snowfall also expected.

Affected Areas

The advisory covers multiple regions, including:

• Eastern Curry County and Josephine County

• Eastern Douglas County Foothills

• Jackson County, including communities such as Cave Junction, Grants Pass, Rogue River, Medford, Ashland, Shady Cove, and Butte Falls

Major highways likely to be impacted include:

• Highways 199, 238, 62, 140, 227, and 138

• Interstate 5 from Sexton Summit southward
