Nearly 10,000 Without Power After Winter Storm Hits Southern Oregon

Medford, Oregon– Pacific Power crews are working to restore electricity to nearly 10,000 customers in Southern Oregon and Northern California following a severe winter storm that caused widespread outages. The utility company warns that due to the extent of the damage, some areas may experience extended power interruptions.

Crews are on the ground assessing damage and prioritizing restoration efforts. Pacific Power is providing continuous updates through its online outage map, which offers estimated restoration times as more information becomes available.

Safety and Preparedness Measures

Residents are urged to take the following precautions:

• Avoid Downed Power Lines: Stay clear of any fallen lines and report them immediately to Pacific Power’s emergency line.

• Prepare for Extended Outages: Stock up on essential supplies, including flashlights, batteries, and non-perishable food.

• Stay Informed: Keep electronic devices charged and monitor Pacific Power’s social media channels for real-time updates.

Customers with safety concerns should call 2-1-1 to access local services. We appreciate your patience and understanding as crews battle difficult and dangerous conditions while continuing to make repairs.
