The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is set to modernize several older TripCheck cameras in the Medford area, aiming to enhance safety and traffic monitoring. Mary Dillinger, the Rogue Valley ODOT Public Affairs Specialist, has confirmed the ongoing process of camera upgrades, shedding light on the upcoming improvements.
“We have been waiting for equipment to come in,” said Dillinger, shedding light on the logistics surrounding the project. The upgrade is expected to necessitate a lane closure, with most of the work scheduled for night hours to minimize disruptions to daytime traffic.
While the details are still being finalized, Dillinger provided insight into the project’s timeline, saying, “Everything is not finalized yet – but tentatively, we are hoping to have the work completed and the cameras fully operational in a couple of weeks.”

The revitalization of these TripCheck cameras is a promising development for the Medford area, offering improved real-time traffic monitoring and safety measures for the community.
The first two cameras to be upgraded are located on I5 at 12th Street, and also I5 at Barnett Road. Both of those cameras are not operational as crews ready the sites for the upgrades.
Commuters and residents can look forward to a more efficient and secure road network as ODOT works to complete this essential upgrade. Stay tuned for further updates as the project progresses.
