MEDFORD, Ore. (May. 24, 2026) — The crack of the bat and the return of summer baseball are back in Southern Oregon as the Medford Rogues prepare to launch their 2026 season, continuing a tradition that has become one of the Rogue Valley’s signature summer attractions.
The Rogues will officially open the 2026 campaign on Thursday, May 28, when they host the Seattle Studs at Harry & David Field in south Medford. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., beginning a four-game opening series over the weekend that is expected to draw large crowds back to the historic ballpark.
The 2026 season marks another full slate of summer collegiate wood-bat baseball in Southern Oregon. Since being founded in 2012, the Rogues have grown from a startup expansion franchise into one of the region’s most recognized sports organizations, blending competitive baseball with family entertainment and community involvement.
The team originally joined the West Coast League before later competing in the Great West League and Golden State Collegiate Baseball League. The Rogues now compete in the Pacific Empire League, facing several of the West Coast’s top summer baseball programs.
This season’s schedule features matchups against clubs including the Humboldt Crabs, Lincoln Potters, Solano Mudcats, Healdsburg Packers, Marysville Giants and other teams from Oregon, California and Washington. The Rogues will host dozens of home games throughout the summer at Harry & David Field, providing fans with a full slate of baseball and entertainment through July.
Organization officials say the 2026 season will place a major emphasis on fan experience, themed promotions and community events. Fireworks nights are once again expected to be one of the biggest attractions of the summer, with several postgame fireworks shows scheduled throughout the season.
Scheduled fireworks nights include:
• June 5 vs. the Dudes
• June 12 vs. the Fresno A’s
• June 19 vs. the Solano Mudcats
• July 4 vs. the Marysville Giants
Additional promotional nights planned throughout the season include First Responders Night, Country Night, Pink Jersey Auction Night, Military Jersey Auction Night, Fan Appreciation events, waterslide nights, kids camps, mascot appearances and several giveaway nights featuring sunglasses, cooling towels, drawstring backpacks and foam fingers.
The Rogues have built a reputation for creating a ballpark atmosphere that extends far beyond baseball. Fans attending games this summer can expect themed nights, giveaways, youth baseball activities, contests between innings and special event nights designed for families and local businesses.
Team officials say supporting the local economy and investing back into the community remains central to the organization’s mission.
“All the dollars spent go directly back into the team organization and the community as we partner with other local businesses as our first priority,” the organization told Medford Alert News. “The Rogues also give college students and high schoolers their first jobs or employment so they can put that on their resume. We train them on how to become a good employee and how to work as a team.”
That commitment to community involvement has become a defining characteristic of the franchise over the last decade. In addition to hosting baseball games, the Rogues regularly participate in youth camps, school visits, charity events and outreach programs throughout Southern Oregon. Players and coaches often spend time mentoring young athletes and helping grow the sport locally.
Home games are played at Harry & David Field, one of Southern Oregon’s most beloved baseball venues. The stadium has hosted generations of baseball players and fans, including high school, American Legion, collegiate and semi-professional competition. For many local residents, summer baseball at Harry & David Field has become a longstanding tradition.
The franchise’s most successful season came in 2017, when the Rogues captured the Great West League championship after finishing with a 40-20 regular-season record. That championship season remains one of the high points in organization history and helped establish Medford as a respected destination in summer collegiate baseball.
Summer collegiate baseball leagues have continued to grow in popularity nationwide, serving as developmental opportunities for NCAA athletes while also offering affordable live entertainment for communities during the summer months. The Rogues have played a major role in bringing that experience to Southern Oregon.
The 2026 season is expected to feature players from colleges across the United States, many of whom are looking to sharpen their skills with wooden bats in a competitive environment similar to professional baseball. Scouts and baseball fans alike often follow summer collegiate leagues closely as players continue their development.
Special ticket promotions are also scheduled throughout the year, including half-price ticket games, free general admission nights and discounted concession specials. Rogue Credit Union-sponsored half-price ticket and hot dog nights are planned on multiple Wednesdays during the season, while “Thursty Thursday” promotions and Chick-fil-A sponsored events are also returning.
Medford Alert News will also be giving away free tickets to select Medford Rogues home games throughout the 2026 season. Fans are encouraged to follow Medford Alert News on Facebook, Instagram, and X, for contest announcements, giveaways and additional coverage during the summer.
Opening weekend festivities are expected to include special promotions and one of the season’s first large crowds as fans return to the ballpark following the offseason.
