MEDFORD, Ore. (Nov 26, 2025) — Police have arrested a 33-year-old man accused of stealing more than $141,000 in high-value radio equipment during a series of burglaries that targeted Medford Fire Department storage sites earlier this month.
Medford Police said they were first contacted on Nov. 6 after fire personnel discovered a burglary at one of the city’s fire stations. An unknown suspect had forced entry into secured storage containers and stolen several thousand dollars’ worth of radio equipment. A second burglary was reported on Nov. 20, involving another storage container holding equipment slated for upcoming radio system upgrades.
Detectives began investigating both incidents and, on Nov. 24, identified Christian Tommis Jacobson as a possible suspect. Investigators contacted Jacobson, who ultimately admitted to multiple thefts, including several not previously linked to him, police said.
According to investigators, more than $141,000 in stolen radio equipment was recovered during the course of the investigation. Detectives also cleared several additional theft cases throughout Jackson County, where Jacobson is suspected of stealing high-value tools and selling them to local pawn shops.
Jacobson was booked into the Jackson County Jail on charges including aggravated theft in the first degree, second-degree burglary, and first-degree theft.
The case has been forwarded to the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
All suspects are believed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
