Evening Shooting in White City Critically Injures One

White City, Oregon- 911 ECSO dispatchers were inundated with calls around 6:53 p.m. this evening, reporting a shooting in the vicinity of 29th Street, between Falcon St and Avenue G, in White City. A witness told Medford Alert they heard several “loud pops” followed by cries for help, indicating a person had fallen victim to gunfire.

Responding quickly, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire District 3, and Mercy Flights converged on the scene. As of 9:00p tonight, one shooting victim has been transported to a trauma center in the Medford area.

Law enforcement agencies are actively engaged in investigating the incident, with details surrounding the circumstances yet to be disclosed. As of now, no additional information is available.

10:00P JCSO Update:

The suspect fled the scene and is currently on the run. The victim is in critical condition at a local hospital.

Investigators believe the suspect and victim knew each other and there is no known danger to the general public. If you have information about the shooting, call ECSO Dispatch at (541)776-7206.

This case is under further investigation with detectives following additional leads. There is no further information available for release.


1/29/24 JCSO Update:

The suspect from Sunday’s shooting in White City is in custody following a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) detectives, SWAT, K9, and Crisis Negotiator Team operation. The investigation is continuing, further details will be released later.
