“Spring-Assisted Dagger” Found During Search of Suspected Southern Oregon Drug Dealer

Roseburg, OR – Detectives from the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) apprehended 39-year-old Timothy Hobbs of Glide on Tuesday evening, November 28th. The arrest, centered around drugs and weapons charges, unfolded during the interception of a suspected drug deal in Roseburg.

Detectives, engaged in an ongoing investigation into Hobbs’ activities, successfully stopped a suspected drug transaction transpiring in the parking lot of a business located in the 2100 block of NE Diamond Lake Blvd. The Roseburg Police Department collaborated with DINT.

A search of Hobbs yielded approximately 4.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Authorities say that concealed on his person were a spring-assisted dagger and a loaded .38 revolver, both in violation of Hobbs’ status as a prior convicted felon.

Further inspection of Hobbs’ vehicle uncovered around 26.3 grams of suspected fentanyl, accompanied by various drug paraphernalia. Given Hobbs’ criminal history, his possession of the dagger and firearm is considered unlawful.

Hobbs now faces a number of charges and has been booked in the Douglas County Jail. The charges include Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), Unlawful Delivery/Manufacture of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with additional information related to this case to come forward, assisting in the ongoing efforts to ensure public safety.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
