Smoke From East Evans Creek Fire Impacts Air Quality Across Rogue Valley

MEDFORD, Ore. (Jul, 17, 2026) — Smoke from the East Evans Creek Fire has settled into the Rogue Valley, leading to reduced air quality across much of Jackson County as firefighters continue battling the growing wildfire.

Most communities are experiencing degraded air quality, with conditions ranging from moderate to unhealthy depending on location and shifting smoke patterns. Air quality can change rapidly throughout the day as winds and fire activity evolve.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality’s Air Quality Advisory remains in effect until at least 8 p.m. Friday, with officials warning that smoke levels may continue to fluctuate.

Medford Alert News is monitoring conditions and will continue providing updates as new air quality information becomes available.
