Medford Resident Helps Stop Burglary Attempt on Tripp Street

MEDFORD, Ore. (Dec 8, 2025)— A quick-thinking Medford resident helped thwart a burglary Friday night, police said.

Officers responded around 10 p.m. Dec. 5 to a residence near the 100 block of Tripp Street after a neighbor reported hearing breaking glass. Upon checking the property, the resident discovered an unknown male attempting to enter the home through a damaged window.

The suspect fled on foot when confronted and was not located despite a search by responding officers. He was described as wearing a black-and-white camouflage hoodie, dark jeans, and carrying a backpack.

Medford Police Department officials said the incident highlights the importance of community vigilance. “The quick actions of this resident helped stop a burglary attempt and allowed officers to respond immediately,” police noted.

Authorities are asking anyone with video footage or additional information about the incident to call Medford Police non-emergency dispatch at 541-776-7206. Police continue to remind residents to report suspicious activity promptly.
