Tip Leads to Arrest of Medford Man on Multiple Child Abuse Material Charges

MEDFORD, Ore. (Dec 5, 2025)) — A Medford man was arrested Thursday on multiple child exploitation charges after investigators traced uploaded images to a local residence, authorities said.

The Southern Oregon Child Exploitation Team (SOCET) and Medford Police Department arrested Brennan Alan Humes, 47, at the Jackson County Parole and Probation Office on Dec. 4. Humes faces 10 counts of second-degree encouraging child sexual abuse and a parole violation tied to a prior conviction for first-degree possession of materials depicting sexually explicit conduct of a child. He is being held in the Jackson County Jail.

The arrest stems from a search warrant served May 8 at a home in the 300 block of Golf View Drive, where investigators said child exploitation images had been uploaded. SOCET and MPD launched the investigation after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which led to subpoenas and eventually the search warrant. Detectives interviewed witnesses and involved parties as the investigation progressed. According to witness statements, Humes relocated to Oregon because of the state’s sex offender laws.

SOCET, MPD, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office executed the May search warrant with assistance from Jackson County Parole and Probation, which supported interviewing the suspect.

The Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force (SOHTCTF) also assisted, conducting forensic examinations of devices seized during the search. Investigators said they located numerous images and videos of child sexual abuse material across multiple devices.

SOCET was formed in 2020 as a regional, multi-agency effort to combat child exploitation. It includes investigators from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, MPD, Oregon Department of Justice Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and Homeland Security Investigations, along with local, state and federal prosecutors. SOHTCTF includes investigators from JCSO, HSI and MPD.

Authorities said no further information will be released.
