MEDFORD, Ore. (Sep. 10, 2026) — A 29-year-old woman faces multiple charges after police say she drove the wrong way on Crater Lake Highway before crossing the median and crashing into several vehicles stopped at a red light Wednesday, injuring three people and damaging five vehicles.
The Medford Police Department responded Sept. 9 to the crash near Crater Lake Highway and Poplar Drive after dispatchers received reports of a vehicle being driven recklessly and traveling against traffic on the expressway entering Medford.
Police said the driver continued westbound in the eastbound lanes of Crater Lake Highway before crossing the median near Poplar Drive and striking several vehicles that were stopped for a red light.
Five vehicles were damaged and three people were injured. Two people were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Justyne Harbour, was also transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
During the investigation, officers observed signs of impairment, and Harbour admitted to using marijuana before the crash. Investigators obtained a search warrant for blood evidence as part of the DUII investigation.
Police said Harbour also indicated during an interview that the crash was intentional.
Harbour remained at the hospital for treatment and was issued citations to appear in court. She faces charges of second-degree assault, driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Police said they were fortunate that no one suffered more serious injuries in the crash and acknowledged the frightening experience for those involved.
