MEDFORD, Ore. (Dec 6, 2025)— Police are investigating a shooting reported late Thursday night after multiple callers reported hearing gunfire near Mary Street and Stevens Street, authorities said.
Medford officers responded to the neighborhood on Dec. 5 after dispatch received several 911 calls about shots fired. Security footage from a nearby home also captured the sound of gunfire, according to police.
While officers were canvassing the area, Providence Medford Medical Center notified authorities that a man had arrived at the emergency department with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Officers contacted the victim at the hospital, where staff determined the wound was not life-threatening. Police said the man was only partially cooperative with the investigation.
Officers later located the victim’s vehicle at the hospital, noting evidence consistent with a shooting. Several spent shell casings were also recovered near the reported scene, police said.
Detectives have taken over the case as investigators work to determine what led to the gunfire. No arrests have been announced.
Residents in the area who may have surveillance footage or additional information are asked to call Medford police’s non-emergency line at 541-776-7206 and reference MPD Case 25-20541.
