MEDFORD, Ore. (Nov 6, 2026) — An unusually warm November afternoon could be in store for the Rogue Valley this weekend, with temperatures approaching 70 degrees in Medford on Saturday before a cold front brings rain, cooler temperatures and gusty winds to parts of Southern Oregon.
According to the National Weather Service in Medford, a ridge of high pressure over the Pacific is expected to bring a warming trend Friday and Saturday, with afternoon temperatures running above seasonal averages.
Friday, Nov. 6, is forecast to bring partly sunny skies to the Medford area, with afternoon temperatures reaching the lower to middle 60s. Overnight temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 30s.
Saturday, Nov. 7, is shaping up to be the warmest day of the forecast period. Medford could reach approximately 69 degrees, with partly cloudy skies in the morning followed by mostly sunny conditions.
Temperatures across the Rogue Valley and other western Oregon valleys could climb into the upper 60s and lower 70s. The National Weather Service said Saturday’s daytime highs are expected to run approximately 5 to 15 degrees above seasonal averages in many locations.
The warmer weather is expected to give way to changing conditions Saturday evening as a cold front approaches the region.
Rain is forecast to move into parts of Southern Oregon overnight Saturday and into Sunday morning, Nov. 8. Jackson and Josephine counties are expected to see increasing precipitation chances, while coastal areas and higher elevations could experience stronger winds and more substantial rainfall.
The National Weather Service expects the greatest rainfall amounts over coastal terrain and the Cascades, including areas around Crater Lake and Diamond Lake. Those locations could receive approximately a quarter-inch to a half-inch of rain, with lower amounts expected in surrounding areas.
Gusty winds are also possible along the coast and over higher terrain as the system moves through. Forecasters expect rainfall and winds to gradually decrease Sunday afternoon.
Sunday will bring a noticeable change from Saturday’s mild conditions. Medford is forecast to see mostly cloudy skies, a chance of morning rain and an afternoon high in the lower to middle 50s.
The cooler conditions are expected to continue into the beginning of next week.
Monday, Nov. 9, is forecast to bring mostly cloudy skies to the Rogue Valley, with a slight chance of rain and afternoon temperatures generally in the middle 50s to lower 60s.
Tuesday, Nov. 10, could bring some improvement, with partly to mostly cloudy skies and temperatures climbing into the upper 50s to middle 60s. Rain chances are expected to remain relatively low, although additional precipitation cannot be ruled out.
Looking farther ahead, the National Weather Service is monitoring additional weather systems that could bring opportunities for rain across Southern Oregon and Northern California during the middle and latter portions of next week.
Forecasters said there is still considerable uncertainty surrounding the timing and extent of those systems. However, the broader weather pattern is expected to remain somewhat active, with temperatures generally near or slightly above seasonal averages.
The National Weather Service said there are currently no indications of widespread hazardous weather conditions associated with the broader pattern.
For the Rogue Valley, the immediate forecast calls for a mild Friday, a potentially near-70-degree Saturday in Medford, and a return to cooler, wetter weather as the weekend comes to a close.
