Medford, Oregon– The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Jackson County, in effect from noon to 7 p.m. today. Snowfall is expected across the region, potentially affecting travel during the evening commute.
Total snow accumulations of up to 2 inches are forecast for areas above 1,500 feet, including Jacksonville, Phoenix, Talent, Ashland, Ruch, Butte Falls, Trail, Shady Cove, and the east Hills of Medford. Light snowfall of less than an inch is anticipated for valley locations, including the majority of the Medford area.
Key roadways that may be impacted include portions of Interstate 5 and Highways 140, 238, 62, and Trail-Tiller Highway 227.
Snow showers are expected to begin in the early to mid-afternoon and persist into the evening, creating potentially hazardous road conditions. Motorists are advised to slow down, exercise caution, and check road conditions by calling 511 or visiting tripcheck.com.
Authorities recommend that residents plan accordingly and remain alert for changing weather and road conditions throughout the day.
