Klamath County, Oregon– Authorities are investigating a series of incidents in Klamath County that resulted in three deaths on Friday afternoon. The events, which span multiple locations, are being treated as two homicides followed by a suicide, according to the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon State Police.
Just after noon, deputies were dispatched to the Bonanza/Bly Mountain area following concerns from family members about the behavior of Bradley Anderson, 24. Anderson had reportedly been exhibiting erratic behavior, prompting the family to request a welfare check on him and his younger brother, Joseph Anderson, 21.
Deputies located the brothers’ vehicle on Keno Springs Road. As they prepared to approach, the vehicle came to a stop in the roadway. A single gunshot was heard as Bradley Anderson died by suicide in the driver’s seat.
During the subsequent investigation, deputies discovered Joseph Anderson in the vehicle’s cargo area. He was deceased and appeared to have suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
Authorities then sought to locate the vehicle’s registered owner, Robert Russell Langley, 74, of Beatty, Oregon. Upon arriving at Langley’s residence, deputies found him deceased from an apparent gunshot wound inside his home.
Preliminary findings indicate that Langley was killed at his residence before the Anderson brothers’ deaths. The series of events suggests that Bradley Anderson may have been responsible for both homicides before taking his own life.
Family members were informed of the tragedies as they were preparing a search for the brothers. The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police are conducting a joint investigation.
The deceased have been identified as:
Robert Russell Langley, 74 (Beatty, OR)
Joseph Anderson, 21 (Bonanza, OR)
Bradley Anderson, 24 (Klamath Falls, OR)
Authorities urge anyone with relevant information who has not already spoken with investigators to contact Oregon State Police Detective Collahan at 541-883-5711 or Klamath County Sheriff’s Office Detective Pena at 541-883-5130.
The investigation is ongoing.
