Eagle Point Police Shows Solidarity with Deployed Service Members

Eagle Point, Oregon- In response to recent overseas incidents resulting in the loss of service members, including two Navy SEALs and three Army soldiers, the Eagle Point Police Department announces its participation in the R.E.D. (Remember Everyone Deployed) Friday movement.

Originating in the early 2000s following the September 11th attacks, R.E.D. Friday serves as a symbol of solidarity and support for military personnel deployed abroad, particularly during ongoing operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. On designated Fridays, Eagle Point police officers and staff will don red shirts, deviating from their usual attire, to demonstrate the backing of those serving overseas in defense of the nation.

Despite the departure from standard uniform protocol, department officials say they stand united in commitment to recognizing the sacrifices made by deployed servicemen and women. Authorities say the gesture aligns with the strong bond between the Eagle Point community, its law enforcement, and the military.

“As part of the community, our staff wants to continue to support our service members,” expressed a department spokesperson. “We will continue to uphold our commitment to our deployed troops until they all return home.”
