Ashland DMV Office to Close Temporarily Due to Staffing Shortages

The Ashland DMV office will be temporarily closed during the week of August 14, 2023, due to ongoing statewide staffing shortages. Typically open on Tuesdays through Thursdays, the closure aims to address the staffing challenges faced by the department.

To minimize disruption, individuals are encouraged to explore online services or schedule appointments through DMV2U.Oregon.gov. This option allows for DMV services to be conveniently accessed without visiting a physical office.

For those who require in-person services in the area, the Medford DMV office remains operational and open from Monday to Friday. The Medford Center office hours are as follows:

  • Monday and Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Thursday and Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • The office is closed for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

It is suggested to verify office hours and prepare all necessary documents before visiting any DMV office. The OregonDMV.com website provides information on office hours and required documents for various services, including the Real ID option.

DMV Administrator Amy Joyce acknowledged the staffing challenges and encouraged community members to consider applying for DMV job openings. Interested individuals can apply for positions at ODOT by visiting http://www.odotjobs.com and selecting “Department of Transportation” under the Company menu. These full-time positions offer competitive benefits and frequent job postings.

“Please be kind and patient with your local DMV staff—they are your neighbors, friends, and perhaps even family,” said DMV Administrator Amy Joyce.
