South Medford Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

Medford, Oregon– On Friday, May 17th, 2024, at approximately 1:50 p.m., Medford Police Officers swiftly responded to a reported robbery at Key Bank located at 2598 E. Barnett Rd. The suspect, identified as 52-year-old Timothy Michael Spencer of Medford, entered the bank premises and demanded money from a teller. The suspect successfully left with an undisclosed sum of cash and fled the scene in a dark-colored Ford Escape.

In the wake of the incident, MPD Detectives, in collaboration with local Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Agents, mobilized to assume control of the investigation. Diligent efforts persisted throughout the night as detectives meticulously worked to unravel the details of the crime.

Today, a MPD Officer located both the suspect and the outstanding vehicle within Medford city limits. Timothy Spencer was promptly apprehended and is currently under detainment as the investigation unfolds.

Authorities have linked Spencer to this recent bank robbery, and he is also under investigation for a separate robbery at a Rogue River bank earlier in the week.

Charges against Spencer are pending as law enforcement officials continue their investigation into the matter.
