Two People Injured and Three Dogs Perish in Grants Pass Area Fire

Near Grants Pass, Oregon- At approximately 2:29 AM on April 29th, emergency services were dispatched to the 1000 block of Plumtree Lane in Josephine County following reports of a fire. Rural Metro Fire, Grants Pass Fire, and AMR-Josephine County responded to the scene after a call to Grants Pass 911.

Upon arrival, first-responding crews encountered a fully-engulfed RV that was spreading flames to a nearby vehicle. Two individuals with burn injuries were discovered on the street and immediately attended to by medics and firefighters. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.

Tragically, the fire claimed the lives of three dogs that were inside the RV during the incident. However, a fourth dog was found unharmed and is currently under the care of firefighters until animal control services can take over.

The location of the fire on Plumtree Lane is well-known to emergency responders due to previous incidents at the site. The Oregon State Fire Marshal’s office has taken charge of the ongoing investigation into the cause of this morning’s blaze.
