Southern Oregon Woman Dies After Good Deed Goes Awry

Near Grants Pass, Oregon- Josephine County Sheriff’s Office deputies, along with other area emergency response teams, were dispatched to mile post 2.5 on Winona Road on May 10, 2024, at 3:52 pm in response to a single-vehicle accident. The incident involved an overturned vehicle with the occupant, Justine Nord, 39, tragically trapped inside.

Upon arrival, AMR (American Medical Response) assessed the situation and determined that Nord had succumbed to her injuries.

According to the cars driver, they had stopped to assist another disabled vehicle and were outside their own vehicle when it unexpectedly started rolling northbound down the hill on Winona Road. The vehicle subsequently veered off the roadway and overturned, resulting in the passenger (Nord) being trapped inside.

Authorities have confirmed that next of kin has been notified of this unfortunate incident. Authorities say the full circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation by local law enforcement agencies.
