38-Year-Old Grants Pass Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash

Coos County, Oregon- On Sunday, May 5, at approximately 1:02 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Hwy-101, near milepost 250, in Coos County.

The preliminary investigation conducted by authorities revealed that a northbound Nissan Pathfinder, driven by Ryan Scott Sapp, aged 38 from Grants Pass, veered off the roadway for reasons yet to be determined. The vehicle then collided with the embankment on the northbound side of the highway, overturned, and ultimately came to rest upside down in a ditch.

Mr. Sapp was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. His passenger, Tasheena Fawn Reyes, aged 33 and also from Grants Pass, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for l medical attention.

During the investigative proceedings at the crash site, the highway remained unaffected and open to traffic.

The response to this incident involved the collaborative efforts of various emergency services. Oregon State Police were assisted by Bandon Fire, Green Acres Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) in managing the aftermath of the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this event. No additional information is available at this time.
