Tree Climber Rescued After Becoming Trapped Near Rogue River

ROGUE RIVER, Ore. (Jun. 19, 2016) — A professional tree climber was rescued Thursday afternoon after becoming trapped between two trees while performing tree work in the Rogue River area, according to Jackson County Fire District 1.

Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 12 p.m. on June 18 to reports of a man pinned in a tree. Upon arrival, crews found the worker trapped between two trees while conducting professional tree-climbing operations.

After assessing the situation, Jackson County Fire District 1 requested assistance from Jackson County Fire District 3, which responded with a ladder truck to aid in the rescue.

Crews from both agencies worked together to safely reach the climber, free him from the trees, and bring him to the ground.

The man suffered minor injuries and was transported to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center for further evaluation.

Officials credited the successful rescue to the coordinated efforts of firefighters from both agencies. No additional information about the worker or the circumstances leading to the incident was immediately released.

Fire officials expressed appreciation for the teamwork and cooperation that helped ensure a safe outcome for everyone involved.
