Task Force Arrests Medford Man Wanted on Multiple Child Sex Abuse Charges

WHITE CITY, Ore. (Mar. 31, 2026) — A Medford man wanted on multiple felony child sex abuse charges was arrested Monday by a federal task force in White City, authorities said.

Members of the United States Marshals Service-led Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force located and arrested Jose Francisco Gonzalez-Castaneda, 40, at a shopping center in the 7500 block of Highway 62 on March 30. He was taken into custody without incident.

Gonzalez-Castaneda was wanted on a felony warrant that included five counts of first-degree sexual abuse, two counts of first-degree sodomy, and one count each of second-degree sexual penetration and second-degree sodomy. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail. Federal authorities later added additional charges after his arrest, officials said.

The arrest was carried out by U.S. Marshals working alongside detectives from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Central Point Police Department.

Authorities said the charges stem from a years-long investigation conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit.

The Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force includes personnel from the U.S. Marshals Service, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Central Point Police Department. The task force focuses on locating and arresting fugitives wanted for serious crimes, including violent offenses, sex crimes, firearm violations and probation violations.

No further information was immediately available.
