MT. ASHLAND, Ore. (Mar. 12, 2026) — Mt. Ashland Ski Area has officially ended operations for the 2025–2026 winter season after a year marked by unusually low snowfall and warm temperatures.
Resort officials announced the closure today, thanking guests, employees and supporters who helped keep the mountain running during a difficult winter. Despite the challenging conditions, the ski area managed to operate for 17 days and host seven twilight skiing nights during the season.
Mountain leaders said staff worked through multiple reopenings during the winter to provide skiing opportunities whenever conditions allowed.
“This season presented significant challenges, but our staff did the absolute most with the least,” the resort said in a statement, expressing gratitude to employees, visitors, donors, sponsors and community partners.
Because the ski area did not reach its 50-day operating guarantee for season pass holders, the resort said returning unlimited season pass holders will receive a 33% discount during the spring season pass sale. Returning twilight pass holders will receive a 24% discount.
The ski area also reminded guests who rented lockers during the 2025–2026 season that the Locker Lodge will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the end of March to retrieve belongings.
Although skiing operations have ended, the mountain said community events will continue during the offseason. The resort encouraged guests to attend the upcoming Bavarian Night event scheduled for Saturday and to monitor the ski area’s events calendar for additional activities.
The nonprofit ski area, located about 20 miles south of Ashland in the Siskiyou Mountains, depends heavily on natural snowfall and community support to operate each winter. Resort officials said they look forward to welcoming skiers and snowboarders back next season.
