

MEDFORD, Ore. (Feb. 16, 2026) — One person was hospitalized early Sunday after a residential structure fire broke out in northeast Medford, authorities said.
At 12:33 a.m., Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon 911 dispatched crews from the Medford Fire Department and Jackson County Fire District 3 to a reported fire in the 1400 block of Saint Andrew Way.
Engine 15 arrived first to find a small, single-story residence with active fire conditions and declared a working fire. Firefighters encountered heavy fire on a side porch that had extended into the kitchen area and attic space.
Crews initiated an aggressive fire attack and conducted primary searches of the home. The fire was brought under control within approximately 15 minutes of arrival.
Two occupants were evaluated at the scene. Mercy Flights Inc. transported one patient to a local hospital for treatment related to smoke inhalation. Officials did not release the extent of the injuries.
The Medford Police Department assisted at the scene by securing the area, keeping neighbors at a safe distance and temporarily closing the roadway to allow firefighters to operate safely.
Fire investigators with the Medford Fire Department are working to determine the origin and cause of the blaze.
The American Red Cross has been notified and is assisting the displaced residents.
No firefighters were injured in the response.
