MEDFORD, Ore. (Jan. 16, 2026) — A Grants Pass-area man was sentenced to five years in federal prison after attempting to obtain cocaine through the dark web while on supervised release for a prior drug conviction, authorities said.
Dominick Jeffrey Aragon, 32, was sentenced Tuesday to 60 months in prison and three years of supervised release for attempted possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
According to court documents, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement task force intercepted a parcel in February 2025 addressed to Aragon’s residence that contained about one ounce of cocaine. In March, investigators stopped a second package bound for the same address containing roughly two ounces of cocaine.
The investigation continued into April 2025, when authorities seized two additional parcels addressed to Aragon at an acquaintance’s residence that also contained controlled substances.
At the time of the offenses, Aragon was on federal supervised release after completing a 15-month prison sentence for distributing cocaine.
Aragon pleaded guilty on Sept. 29, 2025.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement task force and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John C. Brassell and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Olivia Mendez. RADE is a multi-agency narcotics task force supported by the Oregon-Idaho High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area program.
