ROSEBURG, Ore. (Aug. 28, 2026) — A 25-year-old Roseburg woman was killed Wednesday night after the vehicle she was driving left Interstate 5 and rolled over in Douglas County, Oregon State Police said.
The crash was reported at about 8:18 p.m. Aug. 26 on southbound Interstate 5 near milepost 127.
According to a preliminary investigation, Deanndra Elaine Hamlett was driving a black 2009 Toyota Scion tC southbound when the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason and rolled over. Hamlett was ejected from the vehicle.
Hamlett was pronounced dead at the scene.
Interstate 5 was impacted for approximately five hours while authorities investigated the crash.
Oregon State Police were assisted at the scene by Central Douglas Fire & Rescue and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
The investigation is being handled with assistance from the Oregon State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, a specialized team that investigates fatal and critical-injury crashes on Oregon highways.
The unit uses advanced measuring techniques and small unmanned aircraft systems to document and analyze complex collision scenes. Its personnel include collision reconstructionists accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction and technical collision investigators deployed throughout Oregon.
