MEDFORD, Ore. (Dec. 22, 2025) — The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for parts of southern Oregon, warning of strong southeast winds that could cause travel difficulties and isolated power outages.
The advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday for areas west of the Cascades in Jackson, Josephine and Douglas counties.
Forecasters say southeast winds of 10 to 25 mph are expected, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph. The strongest winds are anticipated overnight and into Wednesday morning, with similar wind hazards likely to return later this week.
The gusty conditions could blow around unsecured objects and may lead to a few power outages, according to the weather service. Large inflatable holiday decorations are especially vulnerable to being displaced by the wind.
Officials urged residents to use caution, particularly while driving. Strong winds can make travel hazardous for high-profile vehicles, including trucks and recreational vehicles.
The advisory was issued by the National Weather Service office in Medford.
