MEDFORD, Ore. (Nov 10, 2025) — The Medford City Council is inviting residents to share feedback on several proposed design alternatives for downtown’s Main Street. Community members can participate by attending an upcoming open house or completing an online survey.
The open house will take place Thursday, Nov. 20, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Oakdale Middle School’s Library/Media Center (Room 117), 815 S. Oakdale Ave. in Medford.
For those unable to attend in person, an online survey is available now through Nov. 30, allowing participants to rank potential design options the Council identified during a July 2025 study session.
The Main Street project has been under review since the City implemented a new restriping layout in October 2023, aimed at improving bicycle access. Following community feedback and concerns raised in late 2024, the Council directed staff to explore alternative configurations.
In March 2025, Council members reviewed several redesign concepts. After additional engineering and analysis, they identified four alternatives for further consideration:
Revert Main Street to its previous configuration Keep the current layout Add a standard one-way bike lane on the right Create two-way travel with bike lanes
The original restriping project cost about $515,000, with more than 90% funded through an Oregon Department of Transportation grant.
City officials said all feedback collected through the open house and online survey will be compiled and presented to the Council before a final decision is made. Results will be discussed at the Dec. 10 Council meeting, with a final decision expected in early 2026.
