MEDFORD, Ore. (Nov 10, 2025) — Three suspects were arrested Saturday night after Medford Police say an armed menacing incident led to a vehicle pursuit, crash, and the recovery of two stolen firearms linked to a recent armed robbery.
Shortly after 8 p.m. on Nov. 8, officers responded to a report that an occupant of a passing vehicle pointed a firearm at a woman near Crater Lake Avenue and Delta Waters Road, according to police. The victim stayed on the phone with dispatchers, providing real-time updates as officers converged on the area.
Police located the suspect vehicle near Hawthorne Park and attempted a traffic stop. The driver fled, but lost control while turning from 4th Street onto Jackson Street, crashing into a fence at Hawthorne Park.
A 17-year-old male remained in the vehicle and was detained. Two other suspects—identified as Kevin J. Borja, 26, and Jayden E. Hodge, 19—ran into the park, prompting a large-scale search. During the chase, Borja reportedly discarded a pistol before entering Bear Creek and hiding in thick brush.
Investigators said the vehicle was tied to a recent armed robbery under investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (Case SO 25-5780), during which several firearms were stolen. One of those stolen weapons was seen inside the crashed vehicle, police said.
Given the suspects’ criminal history and the presence of firearms, Medford Police SWAT responded to the scene. A thermal drone detected a heat signature in the brush, and officers used announcements and less-lethal tools before K9 Bruno located and apprehended Borja. Hodge was found shortly after and taken into custody without further incident.
The Sheriff’s Office later impounded the vehicle and obtained a search warrant, recovering a second stolen firearm, according to police (MPD Case 25-6735).
Borja and Hodge were booked into the Jackson County Jail. The 17-year-old was referred to juvenile authorities.
The case remains under investigation with assistance from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Medford Police regarding Incident No. 25-19324.
All suspects are believed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
