Police Activity Temporarily Shuts Down I-5 Traffic Near Phoenix

Phoenix, Oregon- All lanes of Interstate 5 near Phoenix were temporarily shut down Friday afternoon due to police activity, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

ODOT said traffic was being held in both directions around milepost 24 and warned drivers to expect significant delays and congestion throughout the area. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

Authorities have not released additional details about the nature of the police activity or how long the closure will last.
