Former Rogue River Teacher Sentenced to 4 Years in Prison for Sexual Abuse of Student

Medford, Oregon- A former teacher at Rogue River High School was sentenced to four years in prison on October 23, 2025, for sexually abusing a student when she was a minor. Jesse Orndoff, 31, of Selma, Oregon, pleaded guilty to five counts, including Attempted Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct, Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the First Degree, and three counts of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree.

According to the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office, Orndoff, who was a teacher and coach at Rogue River High School, engaged in a sexual relationship with the victim, who was between 15 and 17 years old at the time. The abuse started with inappropriate interactions, including prolonged hugs and touching, and escalated to sexual acts, including intercourse and oral sex.

The victim reported the abuse to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in February 2025, and Orndoff subsequently admitted to the misconduct. As part of his sentence, Orndoff will serve 48 months in the Oregon Department of Corrections, followed by 72 months of post-prison supervision, and will be required to register as a sex offender.

During the sentencing hearing, the victim addressed the court, detailing how Orndoff’s actions aligned with the six stages of grooming, including targeting, gaining trust, fulfilling a need, isolation, sexualizing the relationship, and maintaining control. The court took into consideration the victim’s wishes, the charges, and Orndoff’s lack of prior criminal history when determining the sentence.

Orndoff had been employed at Rogue River Junior-Senior High School from 2018 until he stepped down last June. At the time of his arrest, he was working at Rogue Christian Academy in Grants Pass.
