Emergency Water Limits End as Medford Plant Back Online

MEDFORD Water

Medford, Oregon- The emergency water restrictions put in place yesterday have officially been lifted, and residents can resume all indoor and outdoor use immediately, Medford Water confirmed to Medford Alert News.

The restrictions began Tuesday morning after a failure in a bundle of power conductors at the Robert A. Duff Water Treatment Plant cut electricity to the raw water pumps at the Rogue River.

For about 24 hours, customers were limited to essential indoor and emergency use only. Outdoor watering and other non-essential activities were prohibited as officials worked to stabilize the system.

In a statement, Medford Water thanked the community for quickly adapting to the emergency order. “It made a real difference in our ability to manage this emergency. The cooperation of our community in times like these is a valuable key to protecting the drinking water supply for essential indoor and emergency use,” officials said.

With pumping restored and reservoir levels stabilized, Medford Water confirmed that all usage restrictions have ended as of Wednesday morning.
