Two-Alarm Fire Closes Klamath Falls Medical Building Clinic

Klamath Falls, Oregon- A two-alarm fire broke out late Tuesday night at a medical office building in Klamath Falls, damaging multiple clinics and forcing the facility’s temporary closure, according to local officials.

The blaze was reported shortly before 11:20 p.m. in the 2300 block of Mountain View Boulevard at a structure owned by Sky Lakes Medical Center. A cleaning crew inside the building spotted heavy black smoke coming from the second floor and immediately called 911.

Firefighters arrived to find thick smoke spreading through the area, worsened by haze from the nearby Hagelstein Fire. Crews struggled at first to locate the source of the fire within the expansive structure. Once inside, they were met with dense, floor-to-ceiling smoke in hallways and office suites.

Despite the challenging conditions, fire crews were able to locate the fire’s origin and bring it under control before it could consume the building. Several rooms on the second floor and the attic sustained fire damage. The remainder of the building suffered significant smoke damage.

Officials confirmed the building will remain closed until further notice. Sky Lakes Medical Center personnel worked overnight to coordinate clinic closures and to implement plans to maintain care continuity for affected patients.

“The rapid response was critical,” one official said. “This could have been a total loss.”

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
