Medford, Oregon- The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement team (MADGE) has dismantled a significant drug trafficking organization following a two-year investigation. The operation culminated in the arrests of key individuals, the execution of search warrants, and the seizure of large quantities of narcotics, firearms, and cash.
The investigation, initiated in early 2023, targeted a family-run drug trafficking network responsible for importing narcotics into Jackson County. The organization, led by 40-year-old Carlos Diaz-Lourdes of Eagle Point, Oregon, was identified through digital surveillance authorized by the Jackson County Circuit Court in March 2024. The surveillance, which included six Title III wiretap orders issued in November 2024, enabled MADGE to uncover critical details about the group’s activities and its network of associates.
Between January 16 and January 22, 2025, MADGE, in collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies, executed tactical operations across Jackson County. These efforts resulted in the arrest of eight key suspects, including:
• Carlos Diaz-Lourdes, 40, Eagle Point, Oregon
• John Steven Diaz, 32, Eagle Point, Oregon
• Steven John Diaz, 32, Los Angeles, California
• Eileen Diaz, 38, Eagle Point, Oregon
• Nyah Rayne Yeoman, 22, Medford, Oregon
• Mayra Miranda, 30, Medford, Oregon
• Brian Caro, 27, White City, Oregon
• Ryan Lyle Hall, 43, Prospect, Oregon
Twelve additional arrests were made, with multiple indictments filed by the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office.
Seized Items
During the operation, MADGE confiscated approximately 10 pounds of various narcotics, including methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl pills, iso-fentanyl powder, and heroin. Authorities also seized $210,000 in cash and 50 firearms, many of which were short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, and untraceable “ghost guns.”
Collaboration and Support
The Medford Police Department highlighted the vital support of local, state, and federal agencies in dismantling the organization. Partner agencies included the Oregon State Police, Eagle Point Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Community Corrections, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
