Medford, Oregon- The Medford Fire Department will be hosting open houses during Fire Prevention Week, providing residents with the opportunity to meet local firefighters and learn critical fire safety practices.
This year’s event is centered around the theme “Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work for You!”, which emphasizes the importance of smoke alarms in safeguarding homes and lives.
The open houses will take place at two fire stations. On Tuesday, October 8, Station 12 will welcome the public from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and on Wednesday, October 9, Station 16 will host a similar event during the same hours.
These events are designed to engage the community, particularly families, by offering station tours, interactive activities, and practical fire safety information.
The primary focus of the event is to educate residents on the proper installation and maintenance of smoke alarms. Attendees will also have the chance to view fire engines and equipment, use a fire hose under supervision, and receive free fire safety materials.
The Medford Fire Department encourages all residents to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to learn valuable fire prevention tips while interacting with their local firefighters.
