Medford, Oregon- On the afternoon of September 12, 2024, a shooting occurred near Dutch Bros, located across from Kensington Oak Grove Memory Care at 77 Oak Grove Road in west Medford. The Medford Police Department (MPD) responded to several 911 calls reporting the incident at approximately 4:19 PM.
Witnesses reported seeing a black, four-door Lexus arrive at Dutch Bros, where the passenger of the vehicle displayed a handgun to two unidentified males on foot. The two males then walked to a red SUV parked at Kensington Memory Care, with the driver of the Lexus following them into the parking lot. Shortly afterward, the passenger of the Lexus fired multiple rounds at the individuals. Both vehicles fled the scene in opposite directions.
MPD officers quickly obtained surveillance footage of the suspect vehicle and distributed the description to all units. Approximately one hour later, at 5:19 PM, a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputy located the suspect vehicle on Highway 238 in Jacksonville. The suspects, identified as Daniel A. Godoy and Darien R. Bradd, were arrested and charged with five counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Surrounding security cameras captured parts of the incident, and this footage is being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation. According to witness accounts and evidence from the scene, it appears that no individuals were hit by the gunfire.


MPD detectives are working to identify the two unknown individuals involved in the incident to confirm that they were unharmed. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Ford at 541-840-1202, referencing Case Number 24-14969.
Assisting agencies included Oregon State Police, Jacksonville Police, and Jackson County Sheriff’s Department units. Officials say the investigation remains active, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
