Suspect Arrested After High-Speed Pursuit Across Multiple Counties

Lincoln County, Oregon- On April 27, 2024, a high-speed pursuit unfolded across two Oregon counties after a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted a dark-colored minivan driving recklessly and at a high rate of speed along Highway 20 near Crystal Creek Loop in Eddyville. The incident occurred around 1:11 PM when the deputy initiated a traffic stop.

The driver of the minivan, later identified as 33-year-old Gregory Noll of Vancouver, Washington, initially yielded to the deputy but quickly became uncooperative and refused to comply with commands. In response, the deputy deployed a Taser, which failed to subdue Noll. Instead, Noll returned to his vehicle and sped away from the scene heading eastbound on Highway 20.

During the pursuit, which extended from Lincoln County into Benton County, Noll was observed multiple times throwing items out of his vehicle. Attempts to stop the minivan using spike strips were unsuccessful as Noll maneuvered around them.

Benton County Sheriff’s Deputies assumed control of the pursuit as the vehicle continued eastward towards the City of Philomath. After briefly reversing direction and heading back westbound on Highway 20 into Lincoln County, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies resumed the chase.

The pursuit finally came to an end west of Pioneer Mountain Loop on Highway 20 when a Sergeant from the Oregon State Police successfully deployed a spike strip that deflated the minivan’s tires. Subsequently, Noll refused to exit the vehicle, leading to a brief standoff before he was taken into custody.

Following medical clearance at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital, Noll was booked into the Lincoln County Jail. He faces multiple charges including Reckless Driving, Attempt to Elude, Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Endangering, Interfering with a Police Officer, and Offensive Littering. Fortunately, neither Noll nor any law enforcement officers involved sustained injuries during the incident.
