Grants Pass, Oregon- River Valley Church, based in Grants Pass, unveiled plans today to transition the vacant Flying Lark building, into their new church facility. The announcement was made during the church’s annual vision celebration, where members gathered to hear about the next chapter in their operations.

According to the church, the opportunity to acquire the Flying Lark was initially presented to the church just two weeks ago, setting in motion a swift and decisive response from ministry partners outside the church who financially supported the endeavor. While the majority of the funding came from these partners, it’s anticipated that this large space may serve purposes beyond the church community.

The Flying Lark, originally conceived as a potential horse racing venue by Dutch Bros founder Travis Boersma, was never occupied after state regulations prohibited its intended use. The sprawling facility, once valued at approximately $15,000,000, was ultimately handed over to Josephine County. At this time, the final purchase price is unknown.

As the church looks towards 2025 for the relocation, questions linger about the fate of their downtown campus. Currently, no information was made available regarding this detail.

In a recent social media post, the church stated: “The Flying Lark will be the new home of the downtown campus. We can’t believe it. Jesus is real & alive, family. WE’RE SO EXCITED. Pray that Jesus continues to work in the details, & transition of this LEGACY move. WE LOVE YOU, FAMILY”
