In a recent operation, the Oregon State Police Drug Enforcement Section (DES) successfully apprehended Jesse Rigel (35), a wanted individual with an outstanding arrest for a parole violation. The arrest, made on Nov. 6, 2023, stemmed from original charges including assault, DUII, hit and run, and possession of methamphetamine.
Rigel, who had been evading law enforcement for over a year, was located by OSP DES troopers in the 17000 block of Redwood Highway in Selma. The investigation extended to an associated property, where detectives uncovered and recovered two stolen vehicles.
During the search, law enforcement seized seven firearms, with one having been previously reported stolen, along with body armor. A significant discovery was the confiscation of approximately 108 grams of suspected fentanyl in liquid, powder, and pill forms, highlighting the severity of the alleged offenses. Additionally, three grams of methamphetamine were found, along with evidence pointing to controlled substance distribution.
Jesse Rigel was lodged at the Josephine County Jail based on the outstanding arrest warrant. The OSP DES received assistance from the Grants Pass Police Department and the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) team during the operation.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and no further details will be released at this time.
