JCSO Search & Rescue K9 Receives Life-Saving Equipment Donation

In a heartwarming gesture of support, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Search and Rescue (SAR) K9 team recently received a valuable donation of life-saving equipment from the dedicated non-profit organization, Project Paws Alive (PPAK9).

The generous donation included a cooling vest for one of their operational tracking/trailing K9s, K9 Liesl, and an essential oxygen mask kit for the entire SAR K9 team.

K9 Liesl plays a crucial role in the Search and Rescue operations, specifically in tracking and trailing lost individuals. She is known for her exceptional ability to follow scent trails, making her an indispensable asset, especially when searching for lost children or the elderly. K9 Liesl is nationally certified by Search and Rescue Dogs of the United States, highlighting her proficiency and dedication to her mission.

Project Paws Alive, the non-profit organization behind this donation, specializes in providing protective gear and equipment for military and law enforcement K9s. Their mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of these canines who serve alongside our law enforcement officers, ultimately contributing to the safety and security of our communities.
