On October 11th, a joint operation between the Medford Police Department and the United States Marshal’s Service (Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force – Medford Division) led to the successful arrest of two fugitives wanted for murder. The operation unfolded at a residence in the 800-block of Swing Lane in north Medford.
The suspects in question were positively identified as William Charles Williams, a 40-year-old male, and Kennedy Marie Karpf, a 24-year-old female. Both individuals were sought in connection with a homicide that occurred in Shelton, Washington, on September 28th. In this incident, an adult male lost his life to an apparent gunshot wound.
The swift response by law enforcement agencies involved in this case led to the successful apprehension of the suspects. The Medford Police Department activated its SWAT Team, Drone Team, and Crisis Negotiators to surround the residence where the suspects were believed to be located. Within approximately 15 minutes, William Charles Williams exited the residence and was taken into custody without any incident. Kennedy Marie Karpf was located shortly after at a local business and was also arrested without any issues.
The warrants for Williams and Karpf were issued in connection with the Shelton, Washington, homicide case. The Shelton Police Department had identified them as suspects in the initial investigation and requested assistance in locating the couple. The Medford Police Department is in close communication with the Shelton Police Department and is coordinating efforts regarding this ongoing case.
Information about any potential ties that Williams and Karpf may have to the Jackson County area is currently being withheld, and all details related to the original homicide case will be released by the Shelton Police Department.
Both William Charles Williams and Kennedy Marie Karpf have been lodged at the Jackson County jail on their respective warrants, with no option for bail.
