At approximately 3:57p yesterday, Medford Fire Department (MFD) and Medford Police (MPD) units responded to a reported structure fire west of downtown.
Upon arrival, MFD units reported smoke coming from and area near the roof of the small cottage-style home. Several MPD units assisted in the temporary closure of W. 14th St to allow fire crews to work the incident.
Crews were able to quickly contain and extinguish the fire. Occupants were inside the home at the time of the fire and were able to escape quickly.
Authorities have determined the fire originated in the attic. There are no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
