MEDFORD, Ore. (Oct. 24, 2026) — Five people and three pets were displaced Saturday afternoon after a fire broke out at an apartment complex in northwest Medford, according to fire officials.

Firefighters responded to a working apartment fire in the 2300 block of Finley Lane, near Ross Lane and Spring Valley Drive.

Multiple crews responded to the scene, where aggressive firefighting efforts prevented the flames from spreading beyond a single apartment unit.

In a 3 p.m. update Saturday, Oct. 24, officials confirmed the fire had been extinguished. Crews remained at the scene addressing hot spots and conducting salvage operations.

Although the fire was contained to one apartment, the unit directly below sustained water damage during firefighting operations.

No injuries were reported.

Five residents and three pets were displaced as a result of the fire. Officials said the American Red Cross was being contacted to assist those affected.

Jackson County Fire District 3 also responded to assist with firefighting operations.

Fire investigators are working to determine where the fire started and what caused it.

Additional information about the extent of the damage was not immediately available.
