CENTRAL POINT, Ore. (Oct. 10, 2026) — Rainforest Routes LLC plans to permanently exit its delivery facility at 601 Federal Way on Dec. 7, eliminating 170 jobs at a building completed in 2024.
The company disclosed the planned change in a notice filed Oct. 6 with the state of Oregon under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.
The facility, located in Central Point near Medford, was completed in June 2024. The 87,750-square-foot building was designed to support package delivery operations and includes a 35,589-square-foot covered area for staging delivery vehicles and packages, according to construction-industry records.
Rainforest Routes operates as an Amazon Delivery Service Partner, an independent company contracted to deliver Amazon packages. The company has advertised delivery driver positions in the Central Point area.
It remains unclear how, or whether, the closure will affect Amazon deliveries throughout the Medford metro area. The notice does not indicate whether another delivery contractor will assume the routes currently handled by Rainforest Routes or how Amazon plans to manage local deliveries after the facility changes.

According to the state filing, 170 employees are scheduled to lose their jobs Dec. 7. The affected positions include 163 delivery associates, three managers and four administrative employees.
The notice identifies the closure as permanent but does not provide a reason for the decision.
Rainforest Routes also has operations in Tualatin, Oregon. The filing does not indicate whether the planned Medford-area closure will affect the company’s other operations.
The facility’s planned change comes less than three years after its completion. No information has been provided about the future use or of the building, which is owned by Amazon Services LLC.
Additional details about the closure and its potential impact on local delivery operations were not included in the state notice.
