MEDFORD, Ore. (Oct. 10, 2026) — A new all-you-can-eat restaurant featuring sushi, seafood and hibachi is preparing to open in east Medford later this month, bringing a new dining option to the former Big Lots location at Bear Creek Plaza.
Yami Buffet announced plans to open in mid-October at 1070 Biddle Road, near the intersection of Biddle and East McAndrews roads.
The restaurant will offer an all-you-can-eat dining experience featuring sushi, seafood and hibachi in what operators describe as a newly renovated, modern space.
The restaurant is moving into the former Big Lots storefront, which became vacant following the national discount retailer’s bankruptcy and widespread store closures.
Overall plans for the location included an Asian market, buffet restaurant and arcade, representing a proposed transformation of the former retail space into a dining, shopping and entertainment destination.
While Yami Buffet has now confirmed plans to open its restaurant in mid-October, no additional information has been released regarding the previously proposed arcade opening date or details.
According to Oregon business registration records, Yami Buffet Inc. was registered with the state on July 14, 2026, listing 1070 Biddle Road as its principal business address.
Bear Creek Plaza is an approximately 189,000-square-foot shopping center along the Interstate 5 corridor that has historically housed several retailers, including Bi-Mart, Dollar Tree and Big Lots.
An exact opening date for Yami Buffet has not yet been announced. Additional details, including operating hours, buffet pricing and a complete menu, have also not been released.
UPDATE: Yami has announced an October 29, 2026 opening date. Pricing is as follows:
