BEND, Ore. (Jun. 26, 2026) — A DoorDash delivery driver was arrested early Friday after allegedly firing multiple gunshots following a verbal dispute with a customer in a Bend neighborhood, police said.
Officers responded at approximately 3:16 a.m. Friday to multiple reports of gunfire in the 19600 block of Poplar Street. One caller told dispatchers they had been shot at by a DoorDash driver who was leaving the area.
According to the Bend Police Department, investigators determined the victim’s brother had ordered food through the DoorDash app. While waiting outside the home in a vehicle for the delivery to arrive, the victim became upset over what police described as the delivery driver’s careless driving through the neighborhood.
The encounter escalated into a verbal dispute before the driver, identified as 33-year-old Prineville resident Tyler James Blaylock, allegedly fired multiple shots while driving away. Officers located spent shell casings at the scene that were consistent with witness reports.
At about 4 a.m., a deputy with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office spotted Blaylock’s vehicle traveling north on Highway 97 near milepost 131. The vehicle was stopped on Airport Way in Redmond with assistance from the Redmond Police Department, and Blaylock was taken into custody without incident.
Blaylock was arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon, reckless endangering and menacing. He was initially held by Bend Police before being lodged at the Deschutes County Jail.
No injuries were reported.
Bend Police thanked the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and the Redmond Police Department for assisting with the investigation.
All suspects are believed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
