
MEDFORD, Ore. (Apr. 13, 2026) — A 65-year-old cyclist died after being struck by a delivery truck Friday morning in Medford, authorities said.
Officers with the Medford Police Department responded at about 11:26 a.m. on April 10 to a reported collision involving a motor vehicle and a bicyclist on East McAndrews Road, just east of Poplar Drive.
According to police, the driver of a delivery vehicle called 911 to report they had struck a bicyclist while exiting a parking lot. When emergency responders arrived, they found the cyclist trapped beneath the truck.
Rescue crews from the Medford Fire Department and Mercy Flights worked to extricate the cyclist, who was then transported to a local hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, the individual later died from their injuries.
Authorities said the cyclist was a Medford resident. The person’s name has not been released. Next of kin have been notified.
A preliminary investigation found the delivery truck had been exiting a parking lot on the south side of McAndrews Road and was stopped while preparing to turn eastbound. The bicyclist was traveling westbound on the south sidewalk when the collision occurred at the entrance to the parking lot.
Police said no citations have been issued, and there is no evidence of criminal activity at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
